How dangerous is it?
Nobody knows.
No tests have been done to see if the contaminants are getting into the vegetables or can get into your system if you eat them.
Other councils have done bioavailability tests and used them to produce risk assessments which have enabled their sites to remain open.
If the water is contaminated, as the council may now be suggesting, that's really dangerous but as far as we know that hasn't been tested either.
If these tests were done and showed that the site really was damaging our health we'd leave it like a shot.
